With the resignation of Jim Ward as the president of the Truckload (TCA) Transportation Company, the organization makes what it wants to be transparent in one successor.
TCA announced Ward’s retirement on Friday, which the organization has said “in the coming months”. No company date has been leaked.
Entered the unusual entry into the work of President TCA in 2022. He was the head of the TCA, whose predecessor John Libold announced his plans for retirement on April 1 of that year. A chairman or president of the trade union generally comes out of the industry in which the group serves and remains in his daily work while performing the tasks of the chair. The current TCA chair is Karen Smerchek, which is also President Veriha Trucking Wisconsin.
The section was no different. While he was the head of the TCA, he was President and CEO of DM Bowman from Williamsport, Maryland, where he worked for 23 years.

But the presidents of the association, who run the daily group, tend to do the same or work in other associations, or come out of the other category of business employees looking to fill out the role. But instead, Ward retired from DM Bowman and took over as TCA CEO.
In a ready -made statement, he said that the decision was “for a while, and I am very proud of what we’ve done together. TCA is strong, its future is clear, and I am looking forward to watching this community that will continue to grow and prosper in the coming years.”
The TCA statement says the organization begins the succession search. But it also published a link in the departure announcement to a long list of qualifications and abilities in the next TCA president.
Summary says the TCA President “as the executive director of the organization is responsible for providing insight leadership, advancing the TCA mission and ensuring long -term growth and sustainability.” The president described the next president as “the strategic leader with deep knowledge of the transportation industry, the experience of the community’s management experience, the strong support skills, and the ability to engage members and stakeholders at all levels.”
These requirements include two main competencies: “proven executive leadership” in a business association, “nonprofit environment” or corporate companies and “deep understanding of the transportation industry”.
But given that the TCA is based on the river from Washington in North Virginia, the job condition also says that the successful candidate must “have to be successful in support and government relations.”
Requests are required to be submitted by November 1st.
