The company declined to disclose specific financial details on the opening of the facility, but Travis Thomas’s retail support manager in email to retail dives called it “significant investment in our long -term growth”.
Half -mile retail support center measures about twice the size of the company’s distribution center and includes advanced automation technology to simplify operations and minimize environmental impacts. These facilities are joined by a network of more than dozens of distribution centers nationwide.
“This investment is another way we help our neighborhood retailers support a supply chain that competes the biggest retail names, well, competitive and ready to meet their customers’ needs,” Thomas said.
In his latest revenue, Ace Hardware reported $ 2.2 billion in revenue, which is 4.2 % compared to last year. Net income in Q1 has dropped 35 % to $ 30.3 million, partly due to increased increase in marketing and investment costs in the company’s supply chain infrastructure.
Ace warned that tariffs would increase the cost of their goods and that the company intends to convey increased costs to consumers.
