
President Trump, a former Florida business secretary and head of the state’s public and private investment program, has introduced the state to fill the pair of vacancies at the Federal Maritime Commission.
Laura Dibla, a government -run consultant with Tallahssee Adams and Reese, was nominated for the former FMC president Louis Sola for an expired period on June 30, 2028.
Also, President Robert Harvey’s lawyer and executive director of the Florida Opportunity Fund was also nominated for the success of Carl Bentzel for the expiry period on June 30, 2029. After completing his period in December 2024, Bentzel was nominated as the president of the National Association of Waterfall Employers.
The FMC, which regulates US ocean transportation, is taken into consideration as the Trump administration has put the US maritime sector a top priority.
Former FMC president and Louis E. Sola, Native Florida, said in a text to the wave of transportation: “I congratulate Laura Dibla and Bab Harvey to their candidates to the Federal Maritime Commission.” “They as proud Florides, they bring valuable experience in ports, trade and economic development. After being nominated by the board of directors of Florida, Dibla became the first Florida business secretary, a candidate announced and supported by Governor Ron Deanteis. He joined the Law Institute in early 2024. Before working with the state, Dibla served as the executive director of the Florida Port Pilot Association, and before that was the director of the Florida Fernandina Port.
Harvey also served as the executive director of the Florida Development Company, which provides the necessary funding to promote jobs in the state, and has been a member of the State Judicial Commission since 2015, who served as head of 2019-2023.
Candidates are now transferred to the Senate for approval sessions.
The five -man FMC has been without a boss since the departure of Sola in June. He expects Harvey to replace him as a chair because he is given a long time.
