APM Terminals officially opened the latest expansion at the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) over the weekend, freeing up around 2 million TEUs of annual terminal capacity in the Eastern Mediterranean transshipment market.
However, with a new terminal soon to open in Damita, the Eastern Mediterranean transshipment market will see a sudden increase in capacity.
The SCCT development added less than 1 km of new quay and 510,000 square meters of yard.
